The only social big cat, it lives in prides and is native to the savannas of Africa. It is a powerful predator, hunting large herbivores like antelope and zebras.
 
This was a circus lion, hence the cut teeth. As much as we don't agree with this harsh practice, this specimen serves as a striking reminder of the conditions of some circus lions.
